Weekend Reads, No. 147

Del Mar, California
filed under:

Happy Sunday! Rowan and I are heading to California today to meet Edwin after he finished up a shoot in Tahoe. We’ll be in the golden state with family for a few days. It’s a treat because we were just there about a month ago. We didn’t know then that we’d be needing to take this trip now. So, we get to visit twice this winter/spring. This is my second time flying cross country alone with Rowan. While I dream of an extra set of hands, it is definitely manageable. I just get to smile at and bounce my favorite guy around in my lap all day long. Do wish us luck though… I’ll take all that I can get!

I read a quote this week by Dickens from Great Expectations that has completely stuck with me. It reads, “It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.” What a beautiful picture this paints in my head! It has stuck with me so because this is exactly how I would describe the weather we’ve been having in Charleston lately. I’m pinching myself constantly that we get to call Charleston home. I hope you’re enjoying some spring weather too, wherever you all are!
