Sunday – Tuesday were made so special this week by a last minute visit from my sister, Sarah! Sarah calls Atlanta home but she used to live in Charleston and was dying for a couple days here. So, at the last minute, she hopped in her car and drove to Charleston (she can work remotely – you know her dream job from here) just in time for Daylight Savings.
It was so much fun springing forward with my sister and marking the first long, sunny nights of the year with fun activities together. We spent Sunday evening in Hampton Park watching the sun set and the bugs dance. Which was the perfect way to spend the extra hour Daylight Savings gave us! We then went to Felix that night for dinner and went to McCrady’s Tavern for dinner on Monday night. By yesterday evening, Sarah had hit the road but it was a lovely few days… can’t wait for her to be back for Easter! Keep reading for more on our springtime dresses.
I sound like a broken record by now because I keep saying “I scooped this up during the recent Shopbop spring sale” but it’s the truth! I had my eye on this MDS Stripes dress for months but never got it until I saw it go on sale at Shopbop. I think it’s the happiest dress I’ve ever seen.
I’ve worn it a couple times since getting it, most recently here with Sarah but also to a Charleston Wine & Food Festival event and out to drinks + dinner another night. I layered on my denim jacket (last seen here and here) to both nighttime outings as our Charleston spring evenings are still a bit chilly. I love MDS Stripes so much that I rounded up my other favorite dresses here:
My sandals and purse are both purchases from last spring. However as you can see, I still love both and am so happy to bring them out again this year! My sandals (last seen here) are no longer available but I found a super similar pair of raffia sandals (that might even be cuter!?).
My round wicker purse (last seen here) is available again this year, yippee, which makes me thrilled because it’s the perfect size for both day and night. I wear my lipstick ALL the time. It’s from Beauty Counter so I feel good wearing it knowing it’s clean beauty. It comes in a handful of colors but I love the ‘Rose.’ It’s so smooth, luscious, and soft on your lips and doesn’t dry my lips out like so many lipsticks!
Is Sarah’s green floral dress not the cutest midi dress you’ve ever seen! I need to borrow it asap. I adore the print and can’t get enough of the flowy slits. Plus, the wrap style makes it such a flattering silhouette for everyone. The dress is by Faithfull the Brand, which is a go-to line for both of us… they have so many adorable pieces out this season that you can shop here at Revolve, Nordstrom, Anthropologie, and Shopbop.
