Our Trip to Vermont at the Woodstock Inn & Resort

It’s safe to say that I love having a wedding anniversary in the fall. I love autumn with all my heart and am so thrilled that we get to celebrate our marriage this time of year. For our one year anniversary, Edwin and I knew we wanted to take a little trip and we knew we wanted it to be to New England. I had a few towns/hotels in mind but in the end I kept going back to Vermont for the picturesque towns, colorful fall foliage, and breathtaking landscape I’d seen so many photos of.

Ultimately, I had my heart set on visiting Woodstock, Vermont because the little New England town looked like perfection and because I had so many photos saved on my Instagram of the Woodstock Inn & Resort… I was already a little obsessed before we even arrived in the town and stepped foot in the inn! I’m going to share more today about our trip to Vermont at the Woodstock Inn & Resort because I think each and every one of you needs to travel there and stay there. Ha, I’m not kidding! We loved it that much!

Woodstock Inn & Resort

As I mentioned, on the first leg of our trip, we stayed at the Woodstock Inn & Resort in Woodstock, Vermont. When deciding where to stay in Woodstock, it’s really a no brainer as the Inn is the spot! I swooned every time I walked through the hotel or walked the grounds because it was so beautifully decorated for fall (p.s. I heard the inn decorates wonderfully for Christmas too!).

The hotel is big enough to have a spa, two restaurants, a bar, a library/card/game room, an indoor and outdoor pool, a golf course, and more but it is also intimate enough to feel charming and to make you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s home. One of our favorite aspects of staying at the Inn was that it was right in town so it was so easy to walk everywhere or bike everywhere (the inn has adorable bikes with baskets!). Our only regret is that we didn’t fish using the inn’s Orvis gear as we sadly ran out of time. It’s pretty obvious from the above paragraph of me praising the inn that we loved it. Next on our bucket list: going back in the winter to ski!

My Outfit

I wore this outfit for a day out and about exploring the town of Woodstock. I shared it on my Instagram Story (now saved to my Instagram under “New England”) and received more direct messages about it than perhaps any other outfit ever. Honestly, I couldn’t believe it! Who knew a little snap taken at breakfast at Mon Vert Café (YUM!) would blow up my messages!?

Needless to say, my outfit was incredibly comfortable the whole day and I loved wearing pants in the cool, crisp temps without pulling on jeans. These pink pants come in three colors and are so flattering. I also have them in the sage green color because I fell head over heals in love with how you can dress them up or dress them down. My large straw tote was perfect for the day because I could carry little trinkets I picked up around town and carry some local cheese from the Village Butcher. On a side note, I got warm apple cider from the village butcher every single day to sip on for morning and evening walks. We also picked up sandwiches, cheese, crackers, and prosecco here one day for a picnic… divine!

I slipped my monogrammed windowpane Mark & Graham scarf (comes in 6 colors) into my tote bag for the day so I’d have an extra layer in the morning and the evening. I pretty much never travel anywhere without at least one pair of my Hart Hagerty tassel earrings. These cinnamon rose colored earrings are from her new fall collection. Aren’t they stunning? The earrings are so lightweight and there is a color for every occasion!

Another item I never travel without… my Ray Ban clubmaster sunnies! I’ve worn this sunglass style since high school. A final component of my outfit was my shoes. I’m not one to wear heels out all day long unless it is a pair of Castañer wedges, which are so comfortable that I can wear them for hours on end. I love the fall color tone of this pair because it makes a traditionally summer shoe, the espadrille, appropriate for fall and winter. P.S. my top is old but I found a few similar options for you below.

I know living through winters up east can be tough but I feel like I can confidently say that visiting Vermont in any season would be a dream. This trip was my first time to the Green Mountain State but I know I’ll be back again in the fall as well as in the summer and winter. I imagine long summer days spent outside hiking, fishing, and basking in the sun as well as cozy winter days spent skiing and reading a great book by the fire. What I do know for sure is that I’ll always try to stay at the Woodstock Inn. Y’all, we loved it that much! Stay tuned for more Vermont posts to come. xx

    • Ohhhh yay! It was magical in the fall! You will love it! I recommend booking it earlier than you expect because it’s such a popular time of year in Vermont that is books out in advance! xx
