I fall victim to it every year… I get so caught up in all the fun of shopping for Christmas presents and Christmas party outfits that I tend to forget all together about getting an outfit for New Year’s Eve. This year, I put “New Year’s Eve party dress” on my “to buy” list for Black Friday and came away very successful!
I like being out and about on Black Friday because it always feels like a festive and exciting day. So, I braved King Street here in Charleston and struck gold at J.Crew and Kate Spade! That shopping experience is completely responsible for today’s New Year’s Eve party dress outfit. But hey, I’m ready for New Year’s Eve ahead of time (for maybe the first time ever)!
New Years Eve Dress
I have loved everything Kate Spade has put out this fall and winter so far. I feel like I took a bit of a break from wearing so much Kate Spade because it felt a little young for me for awhile. However, I am so impressed with the designs from the line as of late. So Kate Spade is back at the top of my retailers list! I’m madly in love with this pearl embellished little black dress (it also comes in pink!).
While I’m loving it for New Year’s Eve, it would also be perfect for Christmas dinner or for a fancy Christmas fête. I also found these two super similar little black dresses for less: one, two. Here are all my favorite Kate Spade dresses that are just begging to be worn this holiday season and into the new year for winter weddings and for Valentine’s Day (lots of them are on sale & Kate Spade is offering an extra 30% off sale with code EXTRATREAT!).

If embellished dresses aren’t your thing this season, then you might be on the hunt for the perfect sequin, metallic, or velvet dress for New Year’s Eve. I shared my favorite sequin holiday dress recently as well as a dozen or so other gorgeous sparkly sequin dresses. I adore this metallic dress (and the price!) for New Years… I’m trying to think of an event I can wear it to! Now, if you’re crushing on velvet, then I recommend one of these six dresses for New Year’s Eve (all different price points): one, two, three, four, five, six. I’m obsessed with all six, eeeek!
New Years Eve Shoes:
I’m always a fan of some fancy feet! That’s why I knew I had to have these glitter mary jane flats when I saw them (also available here). People have give me so many compliments on them that I can’t stop wearing them. Don’t these heels match the dress perfectly too!? I found a few other adorable sparkle shoes so you can snag the twinkle toes look too:
