It’s the time of year in Charleston when our weather is most unpredictable. One day it will be sunny and 70 degrees and the next day it will be raining and freezing. You just never know! I always have my rain gear ready whether that’s a casual rain slicker or a tailored trench coat. There are lots of ways to look put together in the rain so I’ve thought up four cute rainy day outfit ideas to wear when heading out the door. It seems to be raining (or snowing!) all over the country as of late so I hope this post gives you a little wardrobe inspiration. xx

Cute Rainy Day Outfit Ideas
Colorful Rain Jacket Rainy Day Outfits
This time of year, it seems as though Charleston weather is one of two things: perfect and sunny or gloomy and rainy. Rainy days can be grey and uninspired so I wanted a piece in my closet that makes me feel happy when I reach for it on such days. Enter this adorable pastel pink rain coat. I just love it! It brings a smile to my face even on the dreariest of days! I always love pink so this color was a no brainer for me; however, it is sadly sold out now. If you’re looking for a colored rain slicker that isn’t pink, then you’re in luck. This rain jacket comes in 5 other colors so you can have a pop of color on your next rainy day outing no matter what your color preference is!

Before I share a few more rainy day outfit ideas, let’s not forget the rest of my pink and white outfit! I’m always pro white jeans year round so these button-up jeans get a lot of wear (as seen here, here, here, and here). This woven purse was one of my favorite purchases 2019! It’s a great little size for day to night (it holds my sunglass case, wallet, and keys!). I included a few below but click through to see more!

Cute Rain Boot Rainy Day Outfits
I’ve always been a fan of Hunter rain boots so they are a staple for me in rainy weather and cold weather (as seen here, here, here, here, and here to name a few). Waterproof footwear is extremely necessary in Charleston sometimes too as certain streets are prone to flooding if we get a lot of rain in a short period of time. So you can never go wrong! I also have these short rain boots that I wear for a bit of a chicer look.
P.S. for any gals looking for rain boots for a man in their life, these boots are Edwin’s favorites. He has them in the short version too (they also come in a medium height).

Classic Trench Coat Rainy Day Outfits
I believe trench coats never ever go out of style. They are one of those timeless, tried and true looks that fashion will never replace. When you are heading out the door on a rainy day and you want a rain jacket that also serves as a warm coat and is a bit more polished and put together, then look no further than a classic trench coat. Rainy days come and go but trench coats are always here to stay! I’ve had this J.Crew trench coat since collage and it’s still the best! Pair it will black rain boots and you’ll look tailored and chic in the rain.

Fun Umbrella Rainy Day Outfits
Don’t you hate putting your simple black umbrella by the front door of a restaurant or shop only to leave and realize that someone has accidentally swiped your umbrella in a sea of black umbrellas? Why not add a fun or chic umbrella into the mix? Kate Spade always has adorable umbrellas available, like this one and this one, but you can also get inexpensive umbrellas on amazon like my clear umbrella. I’m also obsessed with these duckhead umbrellas! There are more fun umbrellas out there than you may realize!
