shop

  • Terra This is 100% my favorite clothing boutique in Jackson! Terra carries amazing contemporary lines like Kule and Rhode Resort. Every time I visit this store, I leave with a new delicious sweater or perfect pair of jeans (their denim section is amazing)! There’s also a kids section of the store called Terra Tots that has amazing lines like Rylee + Cru and a beauty section called The Chemist Shop at Terra with gorgeous lines like Tata Harper!
  • Twenty Two Home This is without a doubt Jackson Hole’s premiere interior store! The whole store exudes a luxe yet comfortable mountain lifestyle. Every time I’m in the store, I dream about decorating a mountain home!
  • Belle Cose My what a beautiful store! This luxury lifestyle boutique has everything including kitchenware, home décor, lovely gifts, fine jewelry, and fantastic holiday goods during the holidays! Belle Cose has been tremendously successful and now has a handful of locations including their flagship store located right on the Jackson town square. P.S. the beauty store Alpyn Beauty is located inside the Belle Cose town square location.
  • Bella Cose at Home A few blocks up from the original Bella Cose, is the store’s sister location, Belle Cose at Home. It is a must visit for those with an eye for home furnishings and interior décor! You’ll also find other gorgeous additions for your home including art and coffee table books.
  • Alpyn Beauty Housed within the beautiful Belle Cose store, Alpyn Beauty is a wonderful contemporary beauty line for the modern woman. I say this because it is the first sustainably sourced natural skin care line formulated with alpine botanicals of Jackson Hole… I mean, how cool!?
  • Made Made can best be described as a store focused on all things beautifully handmade in American but with a vintage flair. If you want something to remember you time in Jackson Hole by, then visit Made because the store sells so many amazing Jackson Hole specific goodies. Made also has an unbeatable selection of greeting cards!
  • Mountain Dandy A super unique shop specializing in American made goods for men and for the home. It’s not often that you find a great men’s store, which is part of why I love this store so much! They have wonderful items to gift for men too and the whole store is styled so impeccably.
  • Paper and Grace A sweet stationery shop with beautiful paper goods for work, home, and just general fun! The store always sparks my imagination for gift giving and entertaining too.
  • Roam Roam is just the type of local store that is great to stumble upon on a trip! The shop is known for their unique gifts and goods from local artisans and fair trade partners.
  • Rodeo This high end women’s boutique in Teton Village is full of so many swoon-worthy pieces. The store really embodies an elevated Jackson Hole style where effortless pieces blend with western chic staples. You’ll find beautiful leather jackets, thick yummy sweaters, unique jewelry, and more!
  • Nest A super cute boutique that carries a great selection of affordably-priced contemporary lines like BB Dakota, Dolce Vita, and White + Warren. This store is tomboy-chic, which is fitting for Jackson Hole!
  • Skinny Skis Skiers, this is your shop! It’s the best place for cross-country and downhill skiing gear and apparel in town. They also have a great selection of brands like Patagonia!
  • JD High Country Outfitters This store, wow! Edwin says this is his single favorite store in Jackson Hole. All outdoor lovers and junkies will agree! It’s the best one-stop-shop for the great outdoors. You can get everything you could possibly need for camping, fishing, hiking, and every other outdoor activity. You can also rent a ton of equipment here too if you’re on a trip and not in the market to buy all your gear.
  • Lee's Tees Like every mountain town, Jackson Hole has a handful of touristy t-shirt shops. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve spent my whole life visiting my grandparents in Jackson Hole so t-shirt shops aren’t just for tourists! I’ve been to them all a million times and I can say with confidence that Lee’s Tees is the best one.

Eat

  • Snake River Grill Arguably the most famous restaurant in Jackson Hole. The chef is amazing and the log cabin atmosphere is always vibrant and buzzing. I love to sit by the fire place for dinner and at the bar for drinks! This was the first real restaurant that put Jackson Hole on the map as a foodie mountain town!
  • Local Eat at Local for a taste of Wyoming. The menu includes buffalo tartar and elf medallions, yum! All the meat is locally ranched but don’t worry, there are menu items for non-red meat eaters too.
  • Teton Tiger This restaurant is absolutely delicious! The menu is inspired Asian food that's a range of Thai, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Indian flavors. We always have a hard time ordering because we want everything! The atmosphere is a great casual vibe too right in the heart of town.
  • Nora's Fish Creek Inn A breakfast and lunch staple for my family. Norah's is in between Jackson Hole and Teton Village (the ski mountain) so you'll mostly find locals at this cozy, rustic spot. The food is simple but so perfectly done that Nora’s is a James Beard award-winning restaurant.
  • Persephone I love Persephone so so much! In the winter, this French meets mountain café is so cozy and the most inviting escape from the cold. In the summer, it is so wonderful to dine here outside on the terrace. The food is good enough to ring home about as absolutely every breakfast and lunch item is delicious and inventive! Coffee addicts will adore this place too. The baked goods are out of this world as well!
  • Picnic Picnic is Persephone’s sister restaurant. While I’m partial to Persephone, I do love picnic a ton! It’s a chic casual breakfast, lunch, and pastry shop that serves up yummy toasts, bowls, sandwiches, and salads in addition to all their baked goods.
  • Café Genevieve Located inside a historic log cabin in downtown Jackson is the marvelous Café Genevieve. The menu is full of elevated and inspired home cooked American classics. The all day brunch menu is one of our favorites in town but it’s also a great spot for happy hour and dinner. The deck can’t be beat in the summertime either!
  • The Handle Bar I like popping in here for lunch on a ski day as it is right at the base of the mountain in Teton Village. They have great cocktails and burgers! Don’t forget about the nachos either! It's also a beautiful spot to sit outside in the summer while enjoying a locally sourced salad and delicious Moscow mule.
  • Bin22 Bin22 serves up the yummiest Italian and Spanish style small plates and tapas + it’s Jackson’s #1 wine bar! In addition to the restaurant, it’s a wine shop and a specialty grocer with delicious gourmet items. If you want to pick up wine and charcuterie items for a happy hour at home (instead of dining in), then this is your spot!
  • Trio Trio is one of my family’s go-to spots for dinner because of the ever changing seasonal menu. Owned and operated by two local chefs, Trio serve both seasonal and nightly specials in their open kitchen. The atmosphere is relaxed, which allows the food to speak for itself!
  • Wild Sage Wild Sage is a fabulous intimate restaurant located inside the Rusty Parrot Lodge. The menu consists of classic American fare that is completely inspired by local Wyoming flavors and ingredients including produce, game, meat, and fish. The restaurant has a super romantic feel thanks to the large fireplace, small dining room, and extensive wine list. I really love it here in the winter!
  • The Blue Lion This is quite simply a Jackson Hole institution. Nestled inside of a historic 1930s home, the Blue Lion serves up French inspired American food every night of the week. Most nights, they have an acoustic guitarist playing music too. In the summer, their lovely deck is not to be missed. My grandparents have loved this place since moving to Jackson so we’ve always loved it!
  • Mangy Moose The famous Mangy Moose holds such a special place in my heart. It has been around since the 1960s serving up great burgers, nachos, steaks, trout, and more in the eclectic saloon style restaurant in Teton Village. The stage lights up at night with great bluegrass and mountain music (among other genres), turning it into one of my best bars in town. We ski-in ski-out dine here all the time!
  • Dornan's Dornan’s is open in the summer and fall for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a few different options including the Chuckwagon for casual outdoor bbq, the Pasta & Pizza company for salad + pasta + pizza, The Spur Bar for libations, The Trading Post/Deli for gourmet sandwiches (perfect to grab and take on a hike), a coffee cart, and an ice cream cart. The best part is that the whole Dornan’s area has some of the most stunning views of the Tetons in all of Jackson Hole. It’s super family-friendly too and been around since 1948!
  • Orsetto Orsetto serves up really delicious Italian dishes with an American flair. All their main courses are fabulous but it’s impossible to ignore the pastas here. The noddles are simply to die for! If you want Italian food in downtown Jackson, then go here!
  • Old Yellowstone Garage If you are looking for Italian food in Teton Village, then this is one of two amazing options! The menu is Italian comfort food with a modern twist that is great for lunch and dinner. The restaurant atmosphere has a Mid-Century modern feel with the mountains mixed in. If you are looking for an upscale ski-in and ski-out spot in the winter, this is a great option!
  • Il Villaggio Osteria If you are looking for Italian food in Teton Village, then this is one of two amazing options (see also Old Yellowstone Garage)! I think the vibe of Il Villaggio Osteria is a bit more upscale of the two but it sets itself apart because of the Mediterranean influence on the Italian menu. I die for the Bolognese and the thin wood fired pizza crust!
  • Sudachi Without a doubt, this is our most frequented sushi place in Jackson Hole. The menu celebrates Japanese food with the freshest fish in a super relaxed environment. We eat a lot of Wyoming fare when in town so it is nice to have this lighter option for dinner. Note: Sudachi also has a great sister restaurant in downtown Jackson called Suda Izakaya.
  • King Sushi King Sushi is located inside an old log cabin, which blends the authentic Japanese food with the vibe of the Jackson Hole mountains. We love sitting at the sushi bar inside this laid back spot when craving sushi in town.
  • Hatch Hatch is a taqueria and margarita joint at its core. Their fresh modern taco menu goes hand-in-hand with their impressive selection of tequila and mezcal. It’s super casual and just what the doctor ordered when a Mexican food craving kicks in!
  • Jackson Drug and Soda Fountain As kids, we loved sitting at the counter with our grandparents at the Jackson Drug Store. After decades in business, it sadly left town for a little while. However, it revamped and reopened so it is once again serving up burgers, fries, and shakes! You can still pick up basic drug store items as well.
  • Healthy Being Healthy Being is Jackson’s only organic vegetarian and plant-based café. I can tell you that I’m not a vegetarian and I absolutely love this place! They claim to provide food that makes you feel as good as it tastes and it’s true. Their healthy food is wonderful but I also go here all the time for their cold-pressed juices and smoothies. They have a huge lawn next door, which is the perfect place to sip a green juice on a summer afternoon.
  • Pearl Street Bagels Every town needs an excellent bagel shop and this is Jackson’s! They have two locations around town (one in downtown Jackson and one in Wilson) that locals flock to so I suggest you do too.
  • Yippy I-O Candy Co. My childhood go-to spot in town. It is an old-fashioned candy store that will leave every kid smiling with its massive candy selection and homemade fudge.
  • Moo's Gourmet Ice Cream The yummiest of yummy ice cream shops! Moo’s serves up only all natural and organic ice creams and sorbets. I love some of their more local flavors like Huckleberry!

Sip

  • Million Dollar Cowboy Bar The Cowboy Bar is one of the most iconic spots in Jackson! The bar stools at the bar are made out of old horseback riding saddles, the pool tables are always packed, and the drinks are strong. You'll love dancing the night away to the live country music that graces the bar most nights. It’s hands down my favorite!
  • The Mangy Moose located in Teton Village, The Moose is a skier’s perfect watering hole. Grab a beer here after a long day of skiing or head here at night for burgers and then a bar setting with live bluegrass and mountain music.
  • Silver Dollar Bar & Grill The Silver Dollar Bar & Grill allows guests to step back in time to the wild wild west. This famous and historic bar is known for its live music. It has hosted performers for decades including the likes of Willie Nelson.
  • Stagecoach Bar The Stagecoach Bar has been a Jackson Hole institution since the 1940s. It is known for its “Sunday Church,” which my grandparents used to love and dance at every Sunday. It’s not “church” as we commonly think of it… on Sunday nights, the “world-famous” Stagecoach band plays to a crowd of locals who have been going for year. Visitors are encouraged too!
  • Bin22 Jackson's best wine bar! See more under "Eat."
  • The Handle Bar The best ski-in and ski-out bar in Jackson! It's also a great open-air bar in the summer (although much quieter in the summer months). It is a haven for Whiskey lovers. See more under "Eat."
  • Snake River Brewery If you love beer, then you will love Jackson’s locally brewed Snake River beers (Edwin loves their IPA)! The Snake River Brewery is the brewpub they originate from so it’s a must-visit spot in Jackson.
  • Healthy Being Jackson’s one-stop-shop for cold-pressed juices and healthy smoothies! I love this place! See more under “Eat.”
  • Cowboy Coffee Cowboy Coffee is the best quick coffee spot in town. Locals and tourists both frequent it for good reason! It’s right off the town square so it’s super convenient on a day spent enjoying town. P.S. their breakfast sandwiches are great too!

Stay

  • Caldera House If you are looking for an elevated ski-in, ski-out experience, then Caldera House is for you! It sets itself apart with its contemporary chalet-style aesthetic and set-up. Caldera house offers either 2 or 4 bedroom suites that all have living rooms, kitchens, dining areas, and mountain views from the balconies or patios. There’s also great upscale and casual dining options (including Old Yellowstone Garage), a pool, spa, ski club, and gym… aka all the amenities! Did I mention it’s located right in the heart of Teton Village next to the tram?! Their concierge will also help you help your trip in advance.
  • Amangani Amangani is an Aman property so that right there tells you how amazing it is! Amangani takes a chic minimalist approach to its décor so the whole property feels beyond peaceful and zen. The hotel has sweeping views of the Grand Tetons and the Snake River Range… the best way to take in the views is from the outdoor infinity swimming pool! In addition, the hotel has 3 dining options (we love eating at the locally-sourced and sustainably driven restaurant, The Grill), an incredible spa, a fitness center with amazing workout classes, and a concierge that will help you plan an unforgettable trip.
  • Four Seasons A gorgeous ski-in, ski-out spot in Teton Village. You can expect the high quality experience, multiple restaurants, spa, and amenities that The Four Seasons is known for with a rustic, cozy, mountain, atmosphere!
  • Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa I love staying here because it truly feels like a large mountain log cabin. I suggest it in the winter because it is a great upscale ski-in, ski-out hotel option in Teton Village with an undeniable rustic warmth to it.
  • Hotel Terra A ski-in, ski-out luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Teton Village! This hotel has a super warm, inviting, and mountain chic vibe to it. The hotel has a spa, amazing food (including Il Villaggio Osteria), cute local shops (Rodeo), and a distinct contemporary Western style to it. We’ve always loved staying here!
  • Fireside Resort Rustic meets modern at this Jackson Hole boutique hotel. The whole resort consists of individual cabins that will instantly feel like your own. We’ve stayed here before with a bunch of my family and gotten multiple little cabins. It’s a super fun way to stay together without renting a huge house.
  • Anvil Hotel The Anvil Hotel does a great job of encouraging guests to embrace the western Wyoming mindset of unplugging in the great outdoors. Located just off the Jackson town square, the boutique hotel has so many amazing aspects to it including bikes for guests, outdoor firepits, the coziest lobby common space, a unique mercantile, a yummy coffee shop, and an inviting restaurant. The whole hotel is done in beautiful earth tones and rich navy for a nice masculine, rustic feel.
  • Grand Teton National Park Lodging If you really want to immerse yourself in the great outdoors, then I highly recommend considering a stay in Grand Teton National Park! The national park has four lodging options including Jackson Lake Lodge, Jenny Lake Lodge, Colter Bay Village, and Flagg Ranch. Between the four options, you can stay in cabins, in more traditional hotel rooms, or camp. It’s an amazing way to take in the Tetons and the mountain lifestyle! Note: these are only open in the summer from late May to early October.
  • Hotel Jackson Hotel Jackson has a great location right in town! The atmosphere is very sleek, masculine, and contemporary… think lots of reclaimed distressed wood and stone with modern art adorning the walls. If you’re looking for a mix of the old west and modern luxe, then Hotel Jackson is a great choice.
  • Mountain Modern Motel This completely revamped motel, right in the heart of town, is a great place to stay if you’re looking for a super casual stay. The motel strips back all the fluff but still provides great amenities and even has a restaurant and an indoor pool + hot tub. This place has definitely upped the ante for motels. I love the buffalo check décor accents around the property!
  • Rendezvous Mountain Rentals In addition to checking out VRBO, Airbnb, and HomeAway, Rendezvous Mountain Rentals is a fantastic resource to use to find a great house rental. They focus on houses in Teton Village and in an area called The Aspens that is about 10 minutes from Teton Village. My family has had great success when renting through this site!
  • Clear Creek Group Rentals Another great house rental company to use in Jackson! Clear Creek Group has a fabulous range of luxury rental property options!
  • Abode Abode is also a great house rental property service in Jackson. They have luxury house listings all over the Jackson Hole area from ski-in, ski-out spots to secluded ultra-private homes!
  • Jackson Hole Reservations Jackson Hole Reservations is my final house rental service recommendation! They have such a range of listings from condos to homes to luxury properties that are all over the Jackson Hole area too. My family has had success renting through them!

Do

  • Grand Teton National Park A bunch of the activities I include in this guide can be done or are done in the park (i.e. rafting, hiking etc.) but there is just so much to do and see in the park that it deserves its own shout out! I truly love going for drives in the national park as it has some of the most stunning landscapes you’ll ever see! It borders up to Yellowstone National Park so you can explore there too!
  • Town Square Stroll around town square and take photos in front of one of the four elk-antler arches. The main shopping and restaurant area is surrounding the square. In the summer, the square plays host to the farmer's market and in the winter there is an ice skating rink! See all my shopping recommendations for more.
  • Ski and Snowboard The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is so often voted the premier ski mountain resort in the country for good reason. The skiing is incredible and the village is so fun! I learned to ski here so it will always be my favorite mountain in the world! It is known for being a steep mountain and an absolute mecca for advanced skiers; however, there is plenty for beginners too!
  • Scenic Float and Whitewater Rafting In Jackson, you can do scenic float rafting trips and whitewater rafting trips along the Snake River. Both are SO beautiful and such a blast! The rapids get up to class 3-4 so they are super fun but I also can’t recommend the scenic float raft trips enough. My family always goes in the evening and brings beer and wine so we turn it into a booze cruise! The views of the Tetons from the water are unbeatable!
  • Hiking There are tons of amazing hikes in Jackson Hole. Enter Teton Nation Park and the hikes are endless! However, my family loves hiking Phelps Lake, String Lake, and Jenny Lake in the national park. You can also hike the Grand, which is quite an accomplishment! There are tons of great hikes outside of the park that we love as well including the Ski Lake Trail and the Cache Creek trails.
  • Fly Fishing In the summertime, one of the best ways to enjoy a day outside in Jackson is to spend it fly fishing on the Snake River. It is such a nice way to be outdoors and see wildlife like bald eagles, beavers, and (obviously) fish! I learned to fly fish in Jackson and we do it every summer!
  • Go to the Lake Teton National Park has a handful of fun lakes where we grew up swimming, tubing, and water skiing. Jackson Lake is the biggest so you will find the most water sports there!
  • Paragliding Jackson is really a town for the active and outdoor enthusiasts. My family has gone paragliding off of the Tetons and had a blast! This is such a fun activity for adventure seekers!
  • Snowmobiling If your legs need a break from skiing in the winter, then consider a snowmobiling adventure. We have done a handful of different snowmobiling trips over the years but our favorite is to Granite Hot Springs. Pack a swimsuit because they let you stop and swim in the hot springs! P.S. you can visit the hot springs in the summer too!
  • Old Time Photos I can't even explain the laughs these photos produce especially when you've taken many of them over the years like my family has. Dress up as cowboys, saloon girls, etc. and take hysterical black and white photos. This is hokey but fun!
  • Chuckwagon Dinner This is a really fun way to spend an evening for families with kids. We loved going to chuckwagon dinners when we were growing up! The good ole fashion western music and food are super family-friendly.
