To mark the first of December, I immediately brought out Rowan’s collection of Christmas books to start reading with him. This is only Rowan’s second Christmas but I admit that we own almost every holiday book below. Mind you, I used to be a Kindergarten teacher so I would rather spend money purchasing a book than a toy. Alas, it is such a special time of year and I want Rowan to grow up with memories of us snuggled up reading Christmas books first thing in the morning, by the tree in the evening, and at the end of every day before bed. I have such fond memories of reading some of these books as a child and I hope Rowan creates similar memories while growing up.
Reading with children is such a special time to slow down, bond, connect, and snuggle… all things I want to do with Rowan during the Christmas season. My library of Christmas books for children that I have amassed for Rowan consists of some treasured classics like The Polar Express and How The Grinch Stole Christmas as well as some more modern fun ones like Little Blue Truck’s Christmas (Row loves the Little Blue Truck series!). What are your favorite holiday books from you childhood and what Christmas books for children do your littles enjoy the most? Any holiday books I’m missing?
