Edwin and I are both people that love to get out and explore new places we’ve never been before. As I’ve mentioned, it was the first time to Vermont for both of us so we wanted to explore as much as possible by foot, car, and… canoe! When we checked into The Pitcher Inn, our hotel in Warren, we learned that they have a canoe for guests to use on nearby Blueberry Lake. We expressed interest and the amazing staff at The Pitcher Inn took care of everything for us in terms of getting the canoe all prepped and ready to go out at the lake.
It was a breeze and turned out to be the most fun way to spend a cold, crisp afternoon outside. The right amount of chill was in the air – I layered up and was completely comfortable! Keep reading for more on my outdoorsy outfit from our afternoon canoe ride on Blueberry Lake.
I wear and have so much outerwear that y’all wouldn’t believe it based on what you see me wearing most of the time on Rhyme & Reason. My grandparents moved to Jackson Hole a year after I was born so I’ve honestly always had a healthy collection of Patagonia and other outerwear brands. I then went to college in Boulder at the University of Colorado so my love for comfortable and practical outdoor wear reached an all time high. I still have most of what I wore in those years and have added to it since as well. One of my newer additions is this Patagonia navy half-zip pullover. I love a half-zip, always have and always will. So, I really fell for this jacket! It also comes in 3 other colors.
I layered another Patagonia jacket underneath my down jacket as an extra layer of warmth – it was around 40-45 degrees! The jacket I wore underneath is one of my all-time favorites, a quilted pullover (more sizes here)! I have it in two color combinations: white and navy as well as cream and forest green, as seen here. It is so comfortable and, truth be told, it’s probably one of the top five most worn items in my closet. I highly recommend it!
I completed my outfit with a timeless blue and white check flannel
I found similar options here, here, and here. In addition, I wore my go-to Madewell button-up jeans, warm tall socks (also love these), Clubmaster sunnies (my forever favorites!), and Hunter Boots. Hunter Boots are so well-made and classic. I wear mine more than you’d think – aka not just when it’s raining! They are one of my favorite pairs of outdoorsy shoes. I have them in black and navy, as seen here.
Warren is a smaller town than the town we previously stayed in, Woodstock, so we loved having an outdoor activity to do! An afternoon canoe ride on Blueberry Lake was just what we both craved in the glorious fall weather! I’ll be sharing more on Warren soon so be sure to stay tuned because it’s not to be missed in Vermont, thanks to the amazing hotel we stayed at, The Pitcher Inn. More on The Pitcher Inn to come too because we loved it that much. Edwin declared it one of his most favorite hotels he’s ever stayed at! I think I agree! xx
