A Colorful Easter Brunch in the Garden

Where does time go!? Easter is two weeks from yesterday so it’s time to start thinking seriously about Easter brunch plans and Easter outfits. Stay tuned on R&R as I’ll be sharing more Easter outfit ideas on Wednesday but in the meantime, I’m excited to share a colorful Easter brunch in the garden that I setup last week in my parents courtyard.

The best part about this shoot was sitting down and enjoying the beautiful spread + the yummy food afterwards with my family but I also had a lot of fun using some new pieces from Things Remembered and Williams Sonoma to set the table for this lovely affair! Keep reading for my thoughts on creating the perfect Easter brunch menu and for setting a beautiful Easter brunch table as well as scoop on my $62 wrap dress.

Easter Brunch Table

I love setting a beautiful table but am by no means an expert. I get a lot of inspiration from Pinterest and über talented entertainers like Lucy. While I’m definitely not a pro and am still learning, I do think it is a lot of FUN! I so enjoyed putting together this table for this post. For the al fresco meal we had after snapping the photos. Most of the items I used are from Things Remembered or from Williams Sonoma and then from my mom’s cabinets (I shot the post in my parents garden!).

I love Things Remembered because they do the most wonderful personalized pieces. As such, they are one of my go-to shopping destinations for gifts! My monogrammed drink dispenser (similar), personalized serving tray, and initialed blush wine glasses (yes, they are blush colored, swoon!) are all from Things Remembered. You can personalize their items anyway you want – with initials, monograms, names, sayings etc. In addition to these beautiful pieces, I used the below items and flowers from my favorite Charleston spot, Out of Hand (they did my wedding flowers!).

Easter Brunch Menu

If you know me, then you know that brunch is my favorite meal. In particular, I love Easter brunch and Mother’s Day brunch! Easter brunch always brings back happy memories as my family grew up going to Sea Island for Easter to visit my grandparents… if you’ve ever been lucky enough to go to Easter brunch at The Cloister on Sea Island, then you know that it is the best brunch in the whole world (no exaggeration!). I couldn’t quite pull that off, ha. So I created a lovely little brunch menu for Easter brunch at home complete with all my favorite things. The key is all about putting an elevated twist on your regular brunch favorites. Here are my Easter brunch menu tips:

-Get creative with eggs:

When creating an Easter brunch menu at home, I highly suggest doing something fun with eggs instead of falling back on good ole fashioned scrambled or fried eggs. I think quiches are wonderful for entertaining as they are so easy to cook and serve + they are always crowd pleasers! I can’t tell you how many times I hear “Oh my gosh, I love quiche!  Why don’t I have it more often?” when I serve it. I like to serve both a vegetarian and a meat option.

– Fruit:

Fruit is one of the other key ingredients of an Easter brunch. I opted for bowls of fresh berries – strawberries and blackberries as they are my favorites.

– Some kind of bread:

A bread at brunch is always welcome. I added croissants to the menu because, while they are a standard brunch carb, they are so much more fun than toast or bagels.

– Lots of bacon!

Not pictured, of course, is bacon. I love bacon and think no brunch is complete without it!

– For Easter, sweet treats are a necessity.

My love of fruit made me gravitate toward fruit tarts but I’m also in love with all three of these Easter brunch recipes from Elisabeth and Julia! I also added a bowl of jelly beans to the table for people to nibble on throughout the morning.

– Don’t forget beverages when creating your brunch menu.

I opted for citrus infused water (again, it’s just more special than regular ice water – it’s Easter afterall!) and rosé. To me, rosé is one of the loveliest drinks to sip on during the day while the sun is shining. Although, I also like the idea of serving a specialty cocktail for the occasion complete with bubbles + fruit.

For the occasion, I slipped on my current favorite floral wrap dress (only $62!) as well as my go-to espadrilles (also come in a low heel) and grabbed my new basket bag (more here and here!) that I scooped up when Dear Keaton came to Charleston for a pop-up shop the other week. If you love espadrilles as much as I do, then these are for you! They come in a million colors here. If you usually wear a half size in shoes, then order a size down. As they only come in whole sizes and they stretch a bit.

This looks incredible! An Easter brunch tradition is definitely on my to do list but unfortunately we’re barely making it back for church so it won’t happen this year. But these shoots are incredible, not to mention the food! Wow! If you ever want a friend to duck in, hit me up! Love seeing it though!
